There’s nothing worse than a sick puppy. This is little 9 week old Murphy that was treated in hospital for an upset tummy today. She had the saddest face but with supportive treatment and lots of love (who couldn’t love that face!) she soon became one playful pooch.
The most common illness we see in young pups is diarrhoea and/or vomiting. For most pups a sudden change of diet or stress from such a huge life change can cause an upset tummy. Other contributing factors are viruses, bacterial infections, parasites and even cheeky puppies that chew something they shouldn’t.
Luckily Murphy was brought straight to the vet by her new loving family, and after running diagnostics and receiving the appropriate medications as well as ongoing IV fluids, she was back on her feet in time to go home for dinner.
